Care instructions

Many of the beach finds are antiques and have been in the sea for a very long time. Textiles are reclaimed, some are vintage, and may have also had lots of wear in the past. Please be gentle with all items. Keep leather and painted items dry, and away from prolonged sunlight and chemicals. Although many glass and ceramic items have been varnished this will only offer some protection over time. Reclaimed buttons should also be treated with care and should only be applied to handwash items.

Is this a zero waste shop?

Every effort is taken to reuse and reclaim as much as possible. At present the only items bought new are some of the findings (jump rings and clips, etc) and leather cord. Everything else is either found on the beach or locally sourced second hand, including towels, bedding, thread, pull-cords and laces and display materials.

Rather than purchasing business cards a rubber stamp is used onto reclaimed card, and rather than purchasing gift bags or boxes, gift bags are hand made from recycled textiles.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Jewellery items are sold with gift bags that have been hand made from reclaimed textiles. Gift bags are typically made from locally sourced pre-loved socks and bedding. Buttons are sewed onto reclaimed towel remnants.

Similarly for postal packaging, wherever possible, reclaimed materials are used to protect items, and used postal bags and envelopes are reused from local businesses. ***If you have any questions, or do not wish your item to be posted in a reclaimed postal bag, please contact me prior to your purchase and I will source alternative packaging for you.***
