The Haberdashery was but a twinkle in my eye for years until it was officially established in the fall of 2015.

I come from a long line of thrifters/treasure hunters/junkers. When I was a kid I spent countless hours thrifting with my grandma at Salvation Army (which she affectionally referred to as The Haberdashery) and out junkin' around garage sales and Value Village with my dad.

Treasure hunting for unique pieces and wicked deals continued to be a huge part of my life, but I only ever sourced out pieces for myself. Eventually I started taking note of how many Incredible pieces I was passing over merely because they weren't my size. Then one fine day I decided to take the plunge and just buy up a bunch of super cool items of all shapes and sizes and just try to sell 'em online. Selling on Instagram then lead to Etsy, and tradeshows, then to a bricks and mortar store of my very own!

I officially opened up shop as The Haberdashery in the Spring of 2019 - I celebrated my 1 year anniversary right around the time Covid19 shut down the whole world. Needless to say, the bricks and mortar did not survive the pandemic - I closed my doors in May of 2020. I had to roll the dice - and I think I really lucked out, had I kept my lease going amid lockdown after lockdown, I would have landed myself in some serious hot water.

In lieu of my homebase, I went back to the Pop-Up Show life! I'm back participating in as many trade shows as I can in the GTHA in addition to selling on Etsy.

I love love love all things vintage with my whole heart and I'm absolutely filled with joy every time I hear that cash register notification alerting me to a Sale made on my Etsy page.
