My first pattern was the Yellow Sunshine Mug Rug. That design has been updated to a slightly larger size and now has a companion pattern Sunset Mug Rug. The Yellow Sunshine has been a Pinterest Favorite for Quilters with over 1.3K pins, and is my Original Design. Let's see what happens with the new companion Pattern!

The pattern is intended for personal use whether you make your mug rugs to use or give or sell in your small handmade business; Not for mass production.
You can make your own gifts. Imagine making your own teacher gifts for Christmas or end of the school year! Once you get started you may want to make sunshines in all the colors of the rainbow.

Dresden Plate quilt blocks have been around for a long time. What is special about mine? I did not use an existing template. I wanted six sun rays, so I did the math and came up with my own original template for the sun rays and for the sun center.

The Sunset design uses the same templates and the Sunshine pattern, but with a different technique.
For variations in your mug rugs, try changing the sun center by using more or less by sliding it up or down on the sun rays.
