Mom & Dad of Six Spirited Children, dancing in the space between Hustle & Grace. Kat is a Tattoo Artist, Interior Designer, and serial entrepreneur and Colby is a former astronaut trainer and engineer of amazing things. about Christ.
Kat began making jewelry after our family took a leap of faith and moved from California to North Dakota at the request of our youngest child. What began as a way to calm her spirit, quiet her mind & unleash her creativity, ultimately led to her designing and making a small symbol of truth she could wear and share with others. In times where fear and anxiety began to rise, she found that her hands would gravitate toward the pendant hanging around her neck and her thoughts would shift and she could more easily focus on God's promises and what Jesus shared with his disciples in Matthew 17:20,
"And Jesus replied, 'Because you have such little faith, truly I tell you, If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can tell this mountain to move, and it would move. Nothing will be impossible to you.'
After making her first necklace, she made a keychain as a gift for her son, a self-proclaimed atheist who suffered from anxiety. While this small gift was treasured from the perspective of motherly love, the scripture it was based on was shared to serve as a reminder of His heavenly Father's faithfulness and His unfailing love.
As she began to share her jewelry, she found she could also share her faith & trust in the Lord when people asked her about what kind of seed was in her pendant necklace. As her confidence in sharing her faith grew, so did her small business as others found the small treasures and trinkets helpful in times they themselves wanted hopeful reminders.
In 2017 while preparing for a craft fair in North Dakota, her husband Colby was commissioned to design and build jewelry displays. At that show, her husband sold much of the jewelry while Kat visited with vendors. Inventory having become low from the sales he made, Kat and Colby needed to create more jewelry to meet the demand for the second craft fair the following weekend.
Left in charge of the booth while his wife visited again, Colby enjoyed sharing the story of how he and his wife had been creating together and became hooked on making and sharing the Message of the Mustard Seed with his wife.
When these two aren't traveling, you can find this dynamic duo making jewelry, designing displays and helping other crafters expand their businesses by teaching creators, crafters, and non-profits how to leverage media with their free online workshops.
Glory to God... *The atheist son eventually came to Christ. Glory to God. <3
