Blue Caboose Station came about from from a childhood dream of owning a real life caboose. After returning to the valley after 20 years and driving past the 2 Boston & Maine Cabooses in Deerfield, the seed was planted in Bruce's brain. Originally he thought that the Cabooses would make perfect Tiny Houses, but as things often change, we decided to put them on track, and build our workshop (resembling a train station) in front of them.

Wow, five years since we brought the cabooses to Belchertown in the spring of 2018 and broke ground on the workshop that fall in October. With the two cabooses sitting pretty on their track, we are so excited about having our workshop right behind them. The name for our business was born, Blue Caboose Station, a place where we repair, refinish, repurpose, and create unique vintage items for you to enjoy.

We don't just work on trunks - we have a variety of talents that include working on furniture, metal work, classic cars, trucks, tractors, and boats. We love architectural salvage, and often have unique treasures from our estate clean outs. Bruce can take apart anything and put it back together even better. How did Kaye get started with Trunks?
It was twenty six or so years ago, my then 75 year old neighbor refinished an old trunk for me. He had redone a few for my best friend's mom and I had always admired them. Since receiving that trunk I was hooked, and never looked back. Over the years, Mr. L would share with me his secrets for a successful refinish job. I took it all in and would try to make it the local auction every week to find an old trunk to redo. I was thrilled after showing Mr. L my first redo project - he was impressed. I owe it to him for inspiring me with my passion for antique trunks. Now 25 plus years later and hundreds of trunks refinished, I thoroughly enjoy finding the diamond in the rough and turning it into a functional furniture piece for your home or office.
