This shop was inspired by the people in my life who have dementia. I hope to provide you with ideas, resources and tools that I have found most helpful in my own experience, both personally and professionally. The most important factor is that a person with dementia feels that the activity they are engaging in is meaningful or purposeful in some way, not just to "keep busy". We all want to feel needed and helpful, so everything in this shop is to be used with a "failure free" approach.

For almost 25 years, I have worked as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with people living with dementia as well as individuals with mental health conditions. I am passionate about life story telling and sharing and am a Digital Storytelling facilitator as well as a Guided Autobiography instructor. My professional experience combined with
being a Mom AND having had multiple family members with dementia), it's time that I share as much as I can with others who may be looking for guidance and resources.

The meaningful (and printable) activities and resources posted in this Etsy Shop are for caregivers (or care partners) of all kinds: families, friends, home care companions and health care professionals (e.g., recreation, nursing, personal support workers and social work) as well as to staff, students and volunteers working in retirement homes, long term care homes and day programs. They are perfect resources to help anyone create meaningful opportunities!
