I developed a crush on ceramics at the age of 16, when my parents took me to try wheel-throwing at a local bisque-painting shop as a birthday present. I loved it and hung onto the pieces throughout the years; I still have one!
Recently I took a few classes at a local co-op and became a little obsessed. I couldn’t stop thinking about getting into the studio. I hand-built all day every weekend at my kitchen table.
Shortly thereafter I purchased my own wheel and kiln, and set up shop in my basement, which has all the space I could have dreamed of, and and is my escape from the rest of the world. My cats frequently come by to visit and supervise.
I find inspiration in nature, especially the flowers and plants in my backyard and garden, and in the intricate designs of henna (a side gig and passion from my college years). I also love humor, and that plays into my designs as well.

I try to infuse love and good energy into each piece by playing positive music and comedy while I work, keeping the space happy and bright, and talking kindly to my pieces (and equipment 😂).

Meet my equipment:

My wheel’s name is Judy, after the lady who sold her to me. She had been a potter many years, and she and the wheel had actually been on tv together! 📺

My kiln’s name is Charlotte, because she was on someone’s backyard patio when we got her, and was full of spiders. 😅 🕷
