WHAT IS A QUILLO?....... and why everyone should have one
It is a combination of a quilt and a pillow/cushion ... it is a stroke of genius ...
It is a single bed size (110 x 170 cm) quilt that simply folds up into the pocket on the back to form a 44 cm square cushion/pillow. This means it is both a useful and decorative piece that is easily transported and when not in use and does not take up a lot of space.
No two quillos are the same. The varying fabrics used means they are suitable for people of all ages. The designs vary. Some are hand pieced and hand quilted, some machine quilted or any combination of those techniques. The back of the pillow/cushion is not pieced but of course the quilting is the same as the front and is the same fabric as the back of the quilt.
Each quillo takes a considerable time to make, on average 40 working hours. A lot of thought goes into choosing fabrics that go well together and the pattern to be used on the pillow/cushion. The price of each quillo reflects the number of hours taken. Those that are machine quilted or pieced take a shorter time than those that are hand pieced or quilted. Each quilt photo shows its price.
Quillos make ideal gifts for any occasion and are especially popular for
Birthday, Baby shower, Mothers' Day. Fathers' Day, House Warming or Christma
The number of uses is unlimited ... here are a few examples

2. As a knee rug...
Unfold it and use it to keep warm. Feet can be tucked into the pocket on the back of the quilt
to prevent it slipping off, especially when sitting upright.

when needed and it easily folded up into his back pack.
ADVENT CALENDARS are used year after year.
They are made from quality quilting fabrics, are stiffened to maintain their shape and come complete with a ribbon to hang them and a box for storage.

DOOR STOPS. Keep those closing doors in position. They are weighty enough so doors stay in place no matter what floor surface they are on.
