I grew up in a beautiful small town in northern New Jersey, taking art classes after school and learning the classic Calligraphy style Italic Script. I went to college in upstate New York and got my BFA at Syracuse University, and met my future husband. We then spent the next 12 years living in New York City... from Jersey City to the East Village to Brooklyn. I worked as a Graphic Designer for Bloomingdales, Seventeen Magazine, Teen People, The Knot, Organic Style and CosmoGIRL to name just a few, and did wedding Calligraphy for friends and family whenever I could. It was a blast living in such an amazing city...

and then we had kids and everything changed! Living in Brooklyn was wonderful but we longed for a slower pace, more space and more trees...

and ended up moving to Culver City, California where we found it. A friend introduced me to etsy and I was in love! I opened up my shop, featherletter in 2010. Inspired by modern calligraphers with a more organic whimsical look, I changed my style and it has since evolved to what you see now. I started off doing wedding envelope addressing and place cards, and have since added stamps and Calligraphy signs and other items. I love getting new requests because it gives me inspiration to add new items to the shop to accommodate my customer's needs.
