Hey there and welcome to my shop! I have been painting for the last 11-12 years or so, I haven’t really kept track. However, I mostly paint weird abstracts with fantasy inspired touches, I just recently started painting pets and I’ll tell you why.

My husband and I just bought a house in Texas and of course when you have a house you get a dog! Well, we adopted two. Let me tell you the heartbreak in this story gets easier and it does have a happy ending. So we have our Old Man Rudy and our puppy Mulan, they were adopted from two separate local shelters and introduced before we brought them home. They absolutely love each other, but the old boy gets sick of her fast.

Well Mulan first got sick, I thought it was distemper and kennel cough, literally everything under the sun. She really only had 7 out of 10 different viruses, she was fixed with an antibiotic, a $2,000 vet bill and some many needed vaccines. She’s 100% fine now and is causing chaos to my life daily.

Now Rudy’s turn to get sick, when we adopted Rudy we understood the challenges we were going to face with him being overweight. We have him on a diet and we exercise him as often as possible. Great news, he started losing weight! Bad news, we found a lump and it was cancerous. Thankfully we have an awesome vet team that was able to fix him right up!

Although both situation turned out better in the end, they happened so closely together that I was emotionally distraught. So I went back to the one thing that’s always calmed my nerves and that was painting. I just started painting my dogs and it was so therapeutic to me. I wanted to share that feeling with others, it gives me so much joy and peace to enjoy having the paintings of my fur babies hanging in my studio and reminds me, I can over come emotional challenges through my art.

Like I said I’ve always painted weird abstracts of my emotions. People have enjoyed them over time and purchased many because of the way it made them feel, or for my use of vibrant colors in dark situations. There is always a better day and a new day tomorrow. Just because today is a bad one doesn’t mean tomorrow can’t be better, and if it’s not. So what? There’s another day after that right?

I hope you like what I have in my shop and I hope it reminds you that regardless of bad days, times or just feelings, it always has a bit of color and vibrancy in the end.
