My son Christopher and I started out making the TouchWood74 KeyChains for a public School Sale to help raise money for a school trip. We were sitting around the backyard firepit at his grandfathers Alistair W Thomsons and dicussing things we could do for the school sale and chris was playing with a stick in & out of the fire when I had mentioned Keychains, since Chris & I have always collected them. Walla that was it, we discussed all the pros & cons. Chris's grandfather has been in Sales & Marketing for his entire career so he is always good at playing the devils advocate and picks out all the negatives and We would have to come up with or counter with the Pro's. Once we came up with the product design we went into production. The name TouchWood74 came from not being able to brand Knock on Wood since it is to well used already. TouchWood74 was the New brand name in which We design and produce two other products. The TouchWood74 Necklaces and Walking Sticks. All of these products have been added to like magnet clasps for safty reasons (and it opens up sales to children) We added several paracord colors after talking a supplier into making some new paracords in several colors and in a 2mm thick cord. We also use genuine black & brown leather for the Necklaces as well also with the magnet clasps. The Walking Staff's are finished in the design stages and are in production stages as I write this column. We plan on adding more products to our eCommerce site as time premits.
