I enjoy the tactile feeling of clay in my hands. Whether I am throwing or hand building I find the process meditative and the experience as a whole grounding. Pottery is like alchemy. You take clay from the earth, add a bit of water to make it pliable, shape it with your hands, let it dry in the air, bake it with fire where “presto”, it’s transformed. Each piece is bespoke and completely unique in style and form but mirrors the hands of the maker.
Using handmade pottery changes how we interact with everyday objects. It is a way for people to weave art into their daily lives, and adds character and elegance to their living space. A handcrafted tea set celebrates our drinking tea and a vase can adorn the mantel when not in use.
Using handmade pottery changes how we interact with everyday objects. Each piece is one of a kind, because each piece is handcrafted. This guarantees that every piece is as unique as the people you serve with it. My work is made to be used and my hope is that you will use my pottery everyday and enjoy my it for years to come.
