The develpoment of Mareiannach is a journey that began as a hobby directed by wonderfullly creative teaching platfroms like Craftsy. When I first started experimenting with the tools and materials used in jewelry making I though yeah, this is ok, it's fun and look at what I can make......Then I started looking for more serious learnings and found the Jam Factory in Adelaide, where I enrolled and have now taken some courses in metalsmithing, specifically in sterling silver. It has been fantastic and a great place to learn, from jewelry tutors who are very gifted people, have a great deal of experiience, and to meet other talented and creatve people. Just walking through the Jam Factory building and looking in the studio windows at what the artists of all kinds are doing is enough to stir your imagination in to a frenzy, wonderful.
I will continue this journey. I am always in search of new avenues to learn and create from.
I also attend small classes with a personal jewelry tutor in the City of Adelaide.
In life you never stop learning.
I like to think my work is fun, bright, meaningful and full of colour. I love to create things that other people will adore wearing, be able to show off in, feel special and beautiful in.
As promised the evolution continues. I heve recently started an Advanced Diploma in Jewellery and Object Design at the fabulous Adelaide Collage of the Arts. I am aboulutely in love with my new found and imporoving skills in jewellery making.
Im looking forward to bringing you some great stuff on Etsy and on my market stall that I run in market venues throughout Adelaide.
I found the name Marieannach one day whie scratching my head at what to call my new business. It finally came, from my roots in Scotland and my passiion for my new home here in Australia it simply means everlasting. Everlasting handmade treasure - Marieannach handmade treasure, great.
Marieannach coupled with the Etsy selling platform seems somehow a perfect combiation.
I am now finding my own style primarilly in making delightful braclets but I do also like to create and develop other jewelry items necklaces, earrings and rings.
I live in the beautiful sunny and very dry state of South Australia with my husband and a very lively Border Collie. I am keen on sustainability, recycling and Eco friendly practices. I am a lover of animals and of the fair go.
I am happy to customise some of my items to suit personal taste, and to accept commissions if you are looking to tailor a gift for that someone special.
Here's to the creative mind.
Best regards to one and all.
