I know many of you have seen the kids art/ play smocks that I make. I twisted the design a little and want to know what you all think. I thought it would sell right away but it has been floating around for a few days without too much activity. Should I stick with the old design or just keep waiting??

I think they're both very cute and useful! But the new design does add a little extra something...I like it. If it doesn't cost you more time or money, I'd use both designs just to offer more choice. Do you usually do pretty good with those?

It looks like something my granddaughters would wear all summer as a sundress. VERY CUTE! I wouldn't worry about the product, just work on getting more site traffic to your shop. Sales will come.

Your new design is adorable. You should market it as a sundress instead of a art smock... I agree with ericka, too cute to get dirty.

I am a granny and have made smocks for my grandchildren and they are much loved and worn. May I suggest that you try to work up a pattern for a smock with sleeves? I think one of the biggest problems with the "little artists" is that they tend to drag their arms threw the paint or glue or whatever. The smocks I have made all had sleeves. If you email me, I can give you the pattern name and number I have used that has been very popular with my grandkids and their friends in playgroup. It is a cute little number with a matching hat.

Hi ruby..I have started to do ok with the smocks. They hung around for almost a month before any sales started. Now I think I have sold 5 or 6??

Any ideas for other promotions// I tall all of my non Etsy friends about the site. I also try to participate in the forums. What else is out there??

I guess the dirt part is not a worry for me. I make these so if one gets ruined I just make another. It would of course be different for people who bought them...

Everyones advice is so great. thanks for taking the time!

i think it's adorable. i wouldn't worry about it not selling right away - it always surprises me what flies off the e-shelves.
the originals took a month or so you said, so give this another week or so, then maybe do another promo-push?
: ) very pretty though! if i had a little girl, i'm sure she'd be cheeky and need one, too!

i think it's cute - perfect dress for summer! love the pocket - if she's going to collect rocks, at least she can carry them around herself :)
