I am a Finn and create stoneware brand Saara based in Hong Kong. My ceramics are inspired by the Finnish way of life no matter where you live, celebrating timeless style and utility. My forms and glazes are modern, easily mixed & matched with older pieces and meant for everyday use to help make your private moments a bit more special. Saara is named after my late grandmother who taught me everything in the kitchen ( and more). My challenge as an artistic designer is to achieve industrial quality in affordable small-runs.

James writes next to me. Sometimes he uses the pen name Guo Du. It means transition in Chinese. Life’s a series of transitions, a stream of illusions. Moments of consciousness may rise and fall, like waves and ripples. He writes to capture them before they return to a sea of mirage.
