Benvenuto! Mi chiamo Neile e indosso tutti i cappelli qui su neile.etsy.

Welcome! My name is Neile, and I wear all the hats here at neile.etsy. One girl: buying supplies, making, making, making, selling, packing and shipping all from my (sometimes lonely) home studio here in small town New Jersey.
I'm best known for my Stained Glass Cabin in the Woods, a little structure I created using reclaimed window frames filled entirely with my stained glass artwork. It is in this creative cabin that I dream up new designs for stained glass and jewelry to fill the shelves of my etsy shop. Don't be surprised to see little bits of the cabin find their way into all my work...it was the crystals in the cabin that inspired my whole line of crystal suncatchers and corner pieces.
I also create unique and colorful jewelry using real butterfly wings. The butterflies I use are farmed all over the world, and collected when naturally expired. They live out their short winged stage in a protected enclosure. Butterfly farming protects the natural habitat of the butterflies through conservation of the natural vegetation and leaves the wild butterfly population intact. I turn these fragile beauties into heirloom pieces, by pressing them in hand-cut glass and encasing them with a silver alloy. This work began almost twenty years ago when I found a fallen monarch butterfly. It was just so beautiful and so delicate so I wanted a way to preserve and keep it. The techniques and skills that I had been using in my stained glass work led me to much experimentation and evolution. Over the years, I’ve developed the line you see here on Etsy.
If you would like to see more, I'm regularly posting work in progress on my Instagram @neilecooper. My handmade studio was also featured on the Etsy Blog's Inspiring Workspaces: https://www.etsy.com/seller-handbook/article/inspiring-workspaces-neile/28913329232
