This expertly handcrafted collar is composed of tested HYPOALLERGENIC Solid .925 solid Sterling Silver. Please rest assured that our sterling will have NO nickel additive, as we use only the highest quality of sterling silver. TOTAL LENGTH:
The size you choose in the “Total Length” drop down should NOT be the "actual" measurement. The "actual" measurement or actual "circumference" is not sufficient to get the desired fit. The total length you select in the drop down menu is the total size you want your closed to be. This includes the lock. For example, If you select 14" with a mini heart lock, the collar will be 13 1/2" and with the lock (adds 1/2") the "total length will be 14". Micro Locks add 1/4" and large locks ad 1/2".

IMPORTANT: IF YOU SELECT "NO LOCK" YOUR COLLAR WILL BE MADE THE TOTAL LENGTH YOU REQUESTED. IN THIS SCENARIO YOU HAVE TO ALLOW FOR THE CLOSURE YOU WILL USE. IF YOU'RE NOT SURE PLEASE CONTACT US.

Ultimately it is up to you to choose the correct Total Length you feel suits you best. Also, please remember this collar is being custom handcrafted and you must understand and allow for human accuracy, not machined accuracy. There are NO mass produced items here. While we pride ourselves on accuracy, our works will be within a 1/8” inch, give or take. This is entirely negligible and certainly not enough to affect the fit of your collar in any way.

SIZING SUGGESTION (NOT INSTRUCTION):
The best method we've found for getting your perfect neck measurement for a chain collar is what we call the "String Method." With this method, take a string, shoelace, cord, or something similar to the thickness of the collar and put it around your neck to fall where you want it. It is very important that it fits exactly as you would like your collar to fit. It is a good idea to tape it together so you can look at it without having to have your hand holding it. Wear it for a bit, walk around, move, and make sure it feels comfortable. This will assure the correct total size and measurement and will duplicate the same results in the custom collar we make for you. Once it fits how you like it, measure it on a ruler and that is your total length. This measurement already includes the lock. DO NOT add to the measurement to accommodate for a lock.

If one of our locks is not already available in this collars "lock" drop down, that means that the missing lock is not an acceptable candidate for this particular collar, according to our recommendation. This lock is composed of a zinc alloy core, plated with a silvery mirror nickel finish. As with ALL plated items, the finish will eventually and permanently wear away with use leaving it looking dingy and tarnished. This wear cannot be repaired or fixed. The nickel plated lock is not recommended with those who have sensitive skin or are allergic to the latter mentioned metals. This is a temporary lock. This lock is entirely solid 925 sterling silver, including the inside workings, with the exception of the 316L Stainless Steel rust resistant inner spring. One "locking" lock will come with one solid 925 sterling silver key. Additional keys can be added to cart in the "lock" section of our store. One Permanent or "Perm" lock will come WITHOUT keys and will be solid on both sides of the lock (no keyhole). These locks cannot be opened again once locked on. Lock dimensions are no different between locking and permanent. Each lock (and its key where applicable) will come with a quality stamp (bottom back) and our legal company hallmark (side edge) on each unit.

We are the ONLY store in the ENTIRE WORLD to offer locks in Nickel Free Precious Hypoallergenic Metals. (Sterling Silver, 14/18K gold and Surgical Stainless Steel)

Our High Quality products are so very easy to clean. Since most all of our collars and locks are 24/7 wearable (see below for exceptions) just soaping them up when bathing is enough to keep them clean and shiny. Of course make sure to rise them with clear water afterwards.

Stainless Steel is a very hardy metal and can be maintained with just soap and water. Surprisingly enough, even Sterling Silver and Gold can also be kept clean and tarnish free this way as well. How much your sterling or gold collar and lock will tarnish also depends on your body's chemistry as well as environment (air, water, chemicals).

If your sterling or gold collar does tarnish we recommend using a good silver polish or dip. These items can be purchased at just about any hardware store or supermarket. Our favorite is a product called "Tarnex." It is literally a dip (or wipe) for 5 seconds and the tarnish is magically gone! Just remember that Tarnex works only on "tarnish" and you should clean your collar with soap and water to clean off any dirt or oils first before using the Tarnex. Also remember to rinse the collar or lock after using the Tarnex. Then just wipe dry with a paper towel or towel.

Our Leather products are made from the Best Quality Leathers available to us. They are not meant to be worn during swimming or bathing and should be regularly cleaned and conditioned as you would with any high grade leather. There are many leather cleaners and conditioners available on Amazon or at your local hardware store or supermarket. Our favorite is from a company named Bickmore and the product is "Bick 4". This stuff is amazing! It conditions, cleans, polished and protects all in one product.
