"CRYSTAL TRUE PERSUASION" GALLERY piece crafted from Bois d'Arc wood, fossilized limestone base and mirrored crushed crystals.
This absolutely amazing sculptural piece has so much movement, color and contrast that it will be impossible to capture it all with words and photos. This truly is a superb piece that must be seen to fully appreciate its beauty!
It begins with a flowing and graceful limb of Bois D'Arc (also know as Osage Orange, Bodark, Hedge Apple and many other regional terminologies) which has been carved, sanded and highly polished to reveal its stunning spectrum of yellow, amber, gold, russet, mahogany to an almost ebony hue in some areas. The natural pits, knots, sweeps and curves have been caringly coaxed out and exemplified.
It sits on a heavy base of limestone that exhibits the most incredible crystallized shell fossils we have ever seen! Each and every visible shell has been converted into gorgeous and shimmering pure white crystals! To play off of the fire and shimmer in the base, crushed clear mirrored glass has been bonded into the curvature of the piece giving the appearance of silvery diamonds flowing from deep within the heart of the wood!
The piece resonates of antlers and flames, driftwood and sandy beaches, an ancient desert and a sense of renewed spirit! The crystals in both the sculpture and the rough base create a scintillating juxtaposition of refined ruggedness!
The base measures 6"x15". The overall sculpture measures 31" from far tip of base to far tip of the wood. At its highest, it is 13" tall. At its deepest it is 13". It weighs approximately 30 lbs.
Additional photos are available by request. We have done our best to capture the piece in variable light, but it is impossible to fully convey the spectacular beauty of the piece with 5 photos!
This piece will come with a certificate of value and dated and custom-signed by the artist and placed where the new owner requests the signature.
***Bois d’ arc wood is very dense and extremely hard (it is harder than Ash, Black Locust, Hickory, Maple and White Oak). This unique wood is mostly native to northeastern Texas although it has been planted in most states in the US today. Bois d’ arc is an exotic wood because it’s gnarly, often times has chatoyance or cat's eye effect and hues ranging from bright yellow to amber to golden brown to dark chocolate brown.
