Our dishes are 100% made in our ceramic studio. We use the finest high fire clay and glazes available
They are lead free and food save. One exception, all dishes with gold on them are not food safe but I am guessing you will not be eating off of a ring dish anyway.
♥ The process of making your dish.
It is either thrown on the potters wheel or hand formed out of the best pure white high fire clay.
We hand cut the design out, roll the antique lace design onto the clay, hand form it into a dish and then let it dry.
It takes about 2 days for the clay to dry. When it is dry we fire in our kiln to about 1800 degrees. It takes about 24 hours for the kiln to fire and then cool off. We take them out of kiln and get them ready to glaze.
We hand paint all the dishes one at time with 2 coats of glaze, let them dry and then fire them to 2200 degrees. Now we have to wait another 24 hours for the kiln to cool off. They are removed from the kiln, we sand the bottoms of the dishes to ensure that they are smooth so that they will not scratch any surface that they may set on.
If the dish has gold on it, we hand paint it on to the dish. It has to set another 24 hours to dry. Then your dish is ready to ship. It is a process that takes time but well worth the wait.
If you have any questions please contact us before purchasing. We are always happy to answer your questions. Darrielle
My hand built ceramic dishes are not machine made! I make each one, one at a time and therefore they will have there own personality and imperfections, which will make it a truly unique gift!
