I love Maine. One of the most common sites one will find off the coast are lobster boats. In the summertime, on Monhegan Island, one can finds these boats speckled throughout the harbor. Unlike other Lobstermen who fish in the summer, Monhegan lobstermen work in the winter, making the job that much more challenging and dangerous.


Woodcut Printing Process

A woodcut is a relief print made from one or more carved woodblocks that are then inked and printed on paper.

If a print has more than one color, the number of colors usually indicates the number of blocks carved although there are techniques where multiple colors can be applied to one block. This Lobster Boat print is a one color woodcut made by carving one block.

Prints that are part of an Edition will look the same but may have some slight variations as each is unique. The edition number pictured may differ from the one received.
