I was so excited to get a new fire pit a few years ago. The fire pit was great, the cheap, tiny poker that came with it was not. Mrs. StormCloak got too close to the fire when moving hot coals around. So, I headed off to the smithy, fired up the forge, and made one that works a whole lot better and is much prettier, too.

Mrs. StormCloak thought other people would like these so I am offering them to you!

These pokers are heavy duty! I use 1/2" round steel and hand forge the hook, tine, and handle. The hook and poker are both tested against a 100# load. If it fails, it becomes something else (like s-hooks). Once tested and cleaned up, they are double sprayed with heat resistant flat black paint that can withstand 2,000 degrees. I tested this in my gas forge with no noticeable change in the paint or color! Between the load test and paint, this poker should last you a very long time. Mine has lasted throughout 6 summers and winters so far! It'll get a patina, but it sure isn't going to rust away like those cheap pokers.

I'll be offering a few different sizes and custom sizes, too! As I have sold over 185 of these so far, I have a pretty good idea of what lengths work.
