Long knit skirt made out of 100% natural alpaca or organic merino wool. This skirt is wonderful in the cool weather and looks amazing with boots. The skirt provides the perfect warmth. It blocks the wind, and with a pair of alpaca tights or leggings worn beneath, you will stay toasty warm. It is like wrapping a blanket around you, yet you can walk and move with comfort and ease, and you don’t have to hold it up with your hands ; ) The A line quality of the skirt allows full range of motion. The seams of the 5 panels create soft points at the bottom edge, in between the natural curl of the knitting.

The natural-undyed- alpaca colors are shown in the last photo. Because these are the natural colors of the alpaca fiber the black is not a typical dyed jet black as the white is not bleached and is close to ivory in color. The skirt in the photos is knit with light fawn alpaca. The colors options in the drop down menu are all 100% natural alpaca, except the wool options at the bottom of the list.

If you would like a skirt made out of organic merino wool, the wool comes in the natural unbleached white (ivory). You may choose the white wool, or...I usually have some of this dyed with organically grown black walnut husks. Please inquire about the dyed wool available if you would like this option. I can show you pictures of the current stock. This dyed wool ranges from dark brown to gold or a light lavender tan.

This skirt measures about 33inches/84cm in length, it is a little longer at the points. If you would like it shorter, please let me know in a note at purchase : ) You may select a size from the size chart, shown in the photos, for the width. If you don’t fall into the standard sizes in the size chart, you are welcome to provide your waist and hip measurements in a note at purchase. There may be a surcharge for XXL and larger sizes.

The skirt comes with a drawstring in the waist, if you would rather elastic, please state so in a note at purchase. The elastic is made from organic cotton and natural rubber.

Animal fiber can tend to itch sensitive people, wearing cotton leggings or tights underneath helps with this : )

Alpaca is fuzzier, warmer and a bit heavier than the wool. The wool is coarser, and a more structural. Woollywhotknots has two thickness of the organic, merino wool that can be used. Sport weight and fingering weight. The sport is thicker and heavier, it is also a bit thicker than the alpaca. The fingering weight is lighter and thinner than both the alpaca and the sport weight wool. The color choices in the listings' photos only show the natural alpaca colors. The wool comes in unbleached ivory white. I usually have some dyed with black walnut husks (organically grown on our farm). Please ask to see the shades of brown that are available. The alpaca doesn’t not pill like wool does.

I’m in love. Skirt arrived yesterday and smiles on my face. Expections were met, size perfect and quality obvious. Tried it on and felt enveloped in cozy warmth and style. Christmas is coming and so is another order for me! Big indulgence but worth it!
