This is the smallest of our mushroom series. It holds nearly a quarter cup of water and is perfect for smaller pots.

Watering spikes help keep your plant happy and healthy by slowly diffusing water through microscopic pores, providing even hydration for days! Simply insert the spike into the soil near your plant and fill with water. These miniature ollas help take stress out of plant care; use it to provide extra hydration where it’s needed while preventing overwatering.

Top Quality
We use a carefully formulated white clay (not terra cotta) that produces a porous ceramic which is liquid fertilizer friendly, letting you drip-feed nutrients directly to the root. Also, a durable glaze finish that keeps each unique, colorfully hand-painted design vibrant for years.
From hand mixed clay to final glaze coat, all our products are carefully created with non-toxic and lead-free components and finishes.

Hand Made
Every item is created, refined, painted, kiln-fired, photographed, marketed, and shipped by the two-person team that makes up Mountain Mudworks, Sharie and Logan. Slight variations exist. We do our best to keep our photos updated to have an accurate idea of what to expect.

Eco-friendly
Our plastic-free products are packaged to order without frills. Each item is wrapped in paper cushion wrap and nestled in a cardboard box with biodegradable packing peanuts before being sealed with paper tape and sent to you.
We reuse shipping materials from anything we purchase, so if you receive plastic or foam in your order, be sure it is not the first trip it has taken!

Unfinished ceramic is porous, so water is able to pass through it. No need to add a hole. When you receive your Watering Spike all you need to do is gently put it into your plant's soil and fill it with water. Our design is superior to the glass bulbs because it does not have to be removed from the soil to refill it, so you are less likely to damage roots and it is super easy to fill while you are watering. Watering Spikes do not replace the need to water your plants, it is an aid to help high-maintenance plants stay well hydrated between waterings.

We love to help someone get just the right finish on one of our watering spikes, and in some cases, just the right extra accent on one of our existing items. Due to the varying nature in all things ceramic, a nominal fee (usually $5-10) will be assessed depending on the complexity of the project.

Most projects of the above scope can be ready to ship in 4-6 weeks; at that point we will send a personal, customized listing for you to purchase when ready! (Items whose customized listing expires will be sold at our discretion.)
