The Healing You Can Do is a surprisingly simple yet powerful book for healing from past or present trauma, for readers of all ages. It is a love letter for your inner child of adults and children alike- a reminder that you have always been precious, powerful and worth loving. You are capable of powerful and wonderful things, and you are not defined by what has happened to you.
THYCD was inspired by my own healing journey after surviving decades of physical, spiritual and verbal abuse, and then flashbacks to SA, in addition to the loss of my Mother to ALS, and loss of my community after spiritual abuse. I had never planned on being an author. Yet, after discovering so much healing and hope, I asked myself "what did I need to find this healing sooner in my life?" Just like that, the first few pages and concept of this book were whispered into my ear, and I immediately sat down to write. 10 months later, the book was launched, and immediately began changing the way survivors think about their stories, and their purpose.
When we we experience trauma, grief or loss... we can struggle to have faith in our purpose and inherent value. The Healing You Can Do will speak to that part of you. It will leave you beaming with joy, hope, and love for yourself and others.
"This book is like everything I've ever felt, and everything I've ever wanted to feel"
"The Healing You Can Do makes me feel like I'm not alone in this, and like I never was."
Beautifully illustrated by renowned artist Katie m Berggren, THYCD comes alive with inspiring artwork and a life changing message of empathy for others and love for ourselves: The final line reads "Remember all the healing you can do, for yourself, those you love and the entire world, too... all because that hurting someone hurt you."
The Healing You Can Do is not only my journey, but as 500+ readers from coast to coast can tell you, it is a story that transcends and breaks down dividing lines. It has given hope and peace to children and adults who have struggled with all types of abuse, grief, loss of a loved one, cancer, sickness, divorce, pregnancy fears, religious abuse, and many other issues readers have mentioned to me.
