Hey! My name is Emily Denison, the creator of Emily's Soaps. I am currently a nursing student at Kent State University with a previous bachelor's degree in Psychology. I grew up and still reside in Shalersville, OH where all of my products are made. I started making soap a little over a year ago and found that after my first craft show I actually made a little extra money so I continued making it! Needless to say, my family hasn't had to buy store soap in quite some time! I love crafting and working with my hands. Some would say (for a 24 year old), I am definitely an Old Soul. I love all things domestic, natural and especially hand made. I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy creating them for you!
Update: July 9th, 2013 So, a few things have changed since I first opened my Etsy store... Although I still live and make all of the soaps and creams here in Shalersville, and my family still does not buy soap at the store, and my soul is as old as ever... I am proud to say that I am no longer a nursing student, but rather, a Registered Nurse!! My little soap business got me through nursing school and I am so grateful for everyone who has purchased my products. Even though I will be pursuing a nursing job, I will still continue to make all-natural products because this is my passion... My dream is to make it my full-time job. As always, I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy creating them for you!
Update: March 2016 Life is ever changing. This is how we grow! It is good for the soul! Another update is definitely needed my dear customers!! I am still creating products so be prepared for some new additions in the near future! I am still working as a Registered Nurse - in the field of my dreams actually! I took a job in November 2014 as a Labor&Delivery/Postpartum nurse at a local Birth Center! After working on a cardiac unit for a short time I was finally going where I had always wanted to be! Greg and I got engaged on June 8th, 2014! (It only took 9 years!) We moved into our own place in October of 2014 (and I moved my soap shop with me to Charlestown, OH - just minutes away from my hometown of Shalersville!) We got a baby (long-coated German Shepherd, that is!) in November of 2014. As if all of that wasn't change enough - WE GOT HITCHED ON SEPTEMBER 12th, 2015!! I spent my 28th birthday in Italy for our honeymoon. My local customers have gone on this journey with me and are ecstatic for what the future holds for my little business... Let's hope for a little helper! I am elated for business from my repeat customers, and new customers alike from all over the U.S.! The movement towards hand-made products is bigger than ever and we should all be so proud! I am evolving as a business owner by staying busy, constantly learning, forever developing, and never putting all of my eggs in one basket (or all of my soaps in one bathroom!) I think that I will continue to be a part-time nurse because I LOVE the field that I am in. The future still has a lot to hold for Emily's Soaps as it continues to grow! As always, I hope you enjoy my products as much as I enjoy creating them for you!
