Please keep in mind that each piece is made by hand; therefore, variations do occur. The images shown on listings represent a typical item of this style, not the exact one that you will receive.
Handthrown ceramics enjoy an inherent quality of individualism, meaning that each piece will vary slightly from the one before and after. For many, this quality is one that makes handthrown ceramics so desirable. You are literally receiving a piece that no one else has. As a production potter, my skillset allows the pieces to be very very close to one another, but each one is indeed unique.
Gift wrapping and packaging
Gift wrapping is now available. I would be happy to write a gift note to the recipient as a handwritten note. Please leave a Note To Seller with what you would like to have written.
Care instructions
Handmade pottery requires a bit more care than commercial ware.
My items are microwave safe. However handmade pottery should not be subjected to thermal shock. Thermal shock is when something goes from very hot to very cold quickly and vice versa. What happens in scenarios like this is parts of the work heat up or cool down at uneven rates. This puts too much strain on the piece and can cause it to crack.
It can handle a dishwasher; what it cannot handle is being up against other items in the dishwasher and vibrating against something else for a whole wash and rinse cycle. For this reason, I recommend handwashing your ceramic wares. All items may be cleaned using running water, household detergents and a soft sponge or a piece of cloth.
