For as long as I can remember I have loved to create! From the early years with a new box of crayons and coloring books, to paint by number kits to empty sketch books waiting to be filled, to high school art classes in everything from pottery to jewelry making, to obsessive cross stitching and decorating projects for a first home, rug hooking, wool dyeing, you name it I have had to try my hand at it! Being fortunate enough to come from a long line of creative types and to have cohabited with a family filled with innovators and creators has been one of life’s greatest gifts. Childhood memories are filled with traveling to craft shows to not only patron, but to sit in my Grandfathers booth that was filled with his wonderful colonial inspired woodworking projects.
Despite following traditional, "secure" career paths I always dreamed of a day when I could create and create for appreciative patrons. Many years ago, one of my biggest creative co-conspiritors, my younger sister, gifted me a beautiful handmade paper mache Santa. From there and that introduction to paper mache and clay, Folk For All Seasons was born. I have made Santa's for approximately 25 years, and my everyday folk art for almost 7 years. I love and am so inspired by folk art creations from the past so lots of my work is vintage inspired and intentionally made to appear genuinely old.
I live in Vermont and am thankful everyday. I live and work in a renovated 1850’s schoolhouse and have three all grown up kids, a beautiful granddaughter and the two best dogs ever. My days are filled with doing what I love, creating.
