Announcement
My style is Contemporary Impressionism. This means that I paint in the same style as the celebrated impressionists – Monet, Pissarro, Sargent, Cassatt, Payne, Redfield – but with my own twist. My paintings celebrate everyday life with color, light, and fluent brush strokes. They are more realism but leave plenty for the viewer’s eye to complete.
Each painting is original and unique. Subject matter is often repeated but no two paintings are exactly alike.
Check out my new travel paintings featuring Rockport, Massachusetts and Indiana's newest (only) National Park, Indiana Dunes on the shores of Lake Michigan. These small paintings are created in watercolor with pen and ink overlay, matted with simple white mats, ready for framing. Very affordable gift idea or something special for yourself.
Also, take a peek at my new glam cats. Real 23K gold and sterling silver have been added. Plus, some other paintings with added sparkle. This is not paint. This is real gold and silver!
I take great pride in the quality of materials of my artwork. Each painting is designed to last for decades if not longer.
• All professional-grade paint
• Museum-grade canvas, canvas boards and boards
• 100% cotton rag paper if watercolor.
Many of the paintings are standard sizes so they will be easy to frame. Frames shown on here are for display only and are not included with the paintings. I will often repeat a subject but try to make the duplicate paintings as similar to the original as I can.
If you don’t see your favorite subject, please convo me. It may be on my agenda but I just haven’t got around to it.
NOTE: Free Shipping applies to the most economical way, my choice. This is mostly USPS and UPS. Other methods may be available upon request and an extra fee.
I welcome any other questions about my artwork. I’ve been painting for over 30 years.

5 out of 5 starsThe painting is beautiful. The light and colors are divine. Kit - the artist - was incredibly helpful and gracious. I will probably order another one from her in the future.

5 out of 5 starsReceived our custom order from Kit and it is fabulous. She used personal photographs from one of our most favorite places and created a one-of-a-kind piece that our family will enjoy for years to come.

5 out of 5 starsKit created the most glorious painting for my sister's birthday. I commissioned her to bring to life a childhood location of importance which is no longer in existence. Using limited visuals, she worked tirelessly to create it and my sister not only adores the artwork, but says it is her most prized possession! Kit has the magic touch! We are both pleased beyond belief!

Frequently asked questions
What is your shipping policy?
I aim to ship all orders by the next business day after the paid order is received. Smaller works are mailed in my well-known shiny pink padded envelopes. Larger paintings are boxed. Most works will be shipped USPS and the buyer will receive a shipping tracking number. Large paintings will be boxed and shipped UPS.
Shipping fees and received by time are determined by the services the buyer has selected. International customers are responsible for any customs and import fees.
FREE SHIPPING will be at the discretion of the seller unless the buy pays for faster shipping. Mostly USPS first class.
There may be delays due to wet paint or varnishing. Seller will notify the buyer if delays are expected.
What does “museum grade” mean? You use that term a lot when describing your work.
I only use the best paints and other materials. Museum grade means that it should meet museum standards and is archivally safe.
What kinds of paints do you use?
For watercolor paints, I only use Winsor Newton which is a British paint maker and has been around since 1832. I use the colors which are light-fast, that is, they won’t fade easily. When creating a watercolor / pen and ink combination, I use India or carbon ink which won’t fade.
For oil paints, I favor Winsor Newton, Lukas and Richeson.
I normally use Golden Acrylics.
What kinds of surfaces do you paint on for watercolor?
Watercolors are always painted on 100% cotton rag paper. I like d’Arches but use many other varieties. Cotton rag paper is ph neutral and doesn’t yellow or get brittle like wood pulp paper. If properly cared for (framed under glass and kept out of direct sunlight), this paper should last for centuries.
What surfaces do you use for oils and acrylics?
Stretched canvases are used for oils and acrylics. The canvas is usually cotton or linen fabric which is stretched over wooden stretcher bars of various sizes. The canvas then receives a coat of gesso or acrylic primer. These are good for oils and acrylics.
Canvas panels are also used for oils and acrylics. Although I buy pre-made canvas panels, they can be handmade by adhering canvas to wood or Masonite panels. These have an advantage in that they are rigid, easy to mail and easy to frame.
Wood panels are another support that I use. Cut from ash or luan, they are gessoed, sanded, and gessoed again. Wood was one of the first supports ever used for paintings and have been around for centuries.
Are the paintings framed?
No, the paintings are not framed. There are so many choices for frames that I think it is best to leave the choice up to you, the buyer. Most of the paintings, especially the smaller ones, are standard sizes and can easily and affordably be framed at your local craft store or frame shop. I recommend custom framing for larger paintings.
Watercolors should always be matted and framed under glass. The matting prevents the artwork from touching the glass and possibly being damaged.
Can I request a custom painting?
I am always open to creating custom artwork. Please convo me about your ideas and we’ll discuss them.
