Super fun and silly, even my friwnds who dont like zines loved this one

These are powerfully positive and lovingly put together. They arrived packaged beautifully and now I want every issue of Awesome Things.

Confession: I conflated Corey Hart with Corey Haim & possibly Corey Feldman, a common mistake that Liz clears up a few pages in with her trademark blend of humility and humor. At which point, I thought, Oh Jeebus, am I going to have to listen to this guy's entire oeuvre in order to enjoy this book?" (technically issue 14 of her long running zine, Caboose) The answer is no - I mean, I might still, but really, this is a highly relatable meditation on what it means to be pubescent, ardent, and hopelessly devoted to an artist who caught you at exactly the right moment. Liz reproduces a metric heinieload of ephemera I presume was previously only available to SHADES* Fan Club members, so we can all play along at home. Relive a youth you may not have actually had! (* - his big hit was Sunglasses at Night, remember?)

This is one of my favorite zines ever; and “Sunglasses at Night” and “Never Surrender” were my only Corey Hart reference points before. True fan dedication and archival magic, here! It absolutely rocks.
