I love the idea that pottery is art that is meant to be touched, lifted, filled, used. It can only be truly appreciated and experienced through this use. As an artist, I seek to make lovely dishes and pots that are easy and pleasing to use.
Thank you for visiting my shop, and I hope some of my pots find their way into your cabinets and hands! My own kitchen is full of a wide variety of mugs, plates, and bowls made by other potters.

About the work:
I work in brown stoneware mostly, and some porcelain fired in oxidation to cone 6 (around 2200°F). I mostly work on the wheel - which is the part of the process that I love the most. I also do some slab work and am growing this area of my art. I add details to my work by altering the wet thrown form with a swirl up the pot, and I also love to play with wax resist during the glazing stage of the process. Everything goes through two firings to get to the finished pieces.

Some personal information:
I was born in Houston, Texas, grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, and have lived in Mentone, Alabama for the past 8 years. This part of Alabama actually reminds me a lot of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke.
I have been making pottery for almost 10 years now, and have learned from long list of wonderful artist, including those at Sally Jones Pottery in Montreat, NC, as well as the amazing ceramics department at the University of Montevallo. Now, I am fortunate enough to have my own studio at my home in Mentone where I make as much pottery as I can during my off hours. I hope to continue to grow my pottery business and see where it takes me!
