Hi there,

My name is Mariah Marcia! I first started off on Etsy in 2018 as an illustrator creating digital artwork that was bright, colorful and bold. Later that year we had our first child and I took a leave of absence from Etsy to focus on becoming a new mom.

I have always been drawn to the more tactile forms of art such as sculpting, painting, and pottery. In 2020 I decided to focus in on painting, primarily as a way to cope with lockdowns during the Covid-19 pandemic. It has become an absolute joy and borderline obsession for me. I've slowly progressed from acrylics, to gouache and now oils. I'm really drawn to still life compositions that feature my favorite simple things... a fresh bouquet of tulips, a steamy cup of coffee, or fresh produce in a beautiful bowl. My primary sources of inspiration come from John Singer Sargent, Claude Monet and the life of Leonardo DaVinci.

I work from my home studio in Minneapolis, Minnesota and on special occasions I'll travel with my pochade box and paint en plein air. I am officially a stay-at-home mom now, so painting typically happens during nap-time or after my toddlers bedtime. It's a way for me to recharge and escape the ordinary world. The fact that anyone has taken an interest in the works that I have been creating is astonishing to me, and such a wonderful compliment. I hope to pursue painting as a lifelong craft, learning slowly and steadily with each passing day.
