Announcement
Welcome to Mary Claires handmade & recycled jewelry and unique vintage treasures. Many of my pieces include vintage or old materials that I have collected here, there, and everywhere.
The creative materials I use for jewelry are polymer clay, resin, and many kinds of recycled materials. Of particular interest are watch parts, gears, and beads from recycled jewelry found in thrift stores. In this search for recycled materials, I often come across very unique vintage items, which I am happy to share with you. Giving things new life, including them with the color of polymer, encasing them in resin, and creating exciting jewelry is what Mary Claires lives for.

Mary Hargrave
Owner, Artist, Creator
I am a jewelry artist working primarily in polymer clay, but a little with resin. I also love to find old jewelry and embellish or upgrade it to give it a new life. Bumping around to find old jewelry, I often locate interesting vintage items.

Why jewelry?
Jewelry has always been a wearable source of creative inspiration for me. Art jewelry, in particular, makes a strong statement of individuality as small sculptures worn on the body for adornment. I value creativity, re-use of materials, color and a sense of humor. I also am a compulsive shopper at Goodwill, Oakland Museum White Elephant Sale, Hospital Guild shops and other likely places where I find old jewelry and other odd bits to re-use in new compositions. My current fascination is for old computer parts, recycled watch cases, and tiny found objects. I am a member of the Northern California Artists and sell my jewelry compositions in the gift shop of the Sacramento Fine Arts Center.
