He even warned about putting the wrong bedding in and includes a bag with shipment, further educating customers. We love the custom design on the front ( thank you!), the beautiful scorched finish, the taper of the roof to keep the critters high and dry, the creature feature (predator block), the soy-based, non-toxic clear coat (again, so thoughtful). And Jay was so kind in reassuring us quickly with all our questions--got back to us right away. We could not be more pleased. Top drawer craftsman and seller.

5 out of 5 starsLove it! I wasn’t sure what to get, so I messaged Jay and Chris receiving prompt and excellent suggestions. Received the house today and it is perfect! I am rehabbing 3 squirrels. Sent pictures of squirrels with the message and found out what kind they are (fox) and how big the house would need to be. Now I’m just waiting for my squirrels to move into it. I have a set up that will allow them to graduate to the house and then will hang it in a tree with soft release. I highly recommend these houses. Love that they come with bedding, drainage holes. I got a 2 entrance with porch and predator block. Thank you so much! It’s so perfect!

Frequently asked questions
How Long will it take to get my box or feeder?
Boxes and feeders are generally shipped within 10 business days. Etsy holds our funds for several business days and we build and ship once they are released. All large items are shipped via UPS ground from the Northeast and can take 1-5 business days to arrive. Any boxes or feeders ordered after Wednesday go out the following Tuesday.Please check out www.nutsaboutsquirrels.net for faster processing times.
Where do I hang my nesting box?
Nesting boxes should be hung a minimum of 10' off the ground in a well established tree that gets some sun. Some people hang them on poles but we do not provide the hardware for that and are not fans of poles that leave squirrels out in the open to be picked off by predators. If you choose to use a pole or fence it is done so with your own modifications,
What do you seal your boxes with?
We use a non toxic soy or polymer based sealer that has 0 VOCs. It has little to no odor and will feel a little rough to touch.
Do you accept cancellations and returns?
All boxes are custom made to order so all sales are final. If the box has been sent and you no longer want it it is your responsibility to return it at YOUR cost. Original shipping fee and a $25.00 restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.

All dimensions and weights are listed under the product description. If your box is going in a cage please measure carefully because some of the condos are quite large and all sales are final on boxes and feeders.
All boxes are made from pine. We do not use cedar because it contains strong oils and perfumes that irritate the squirrel's respiratory system.
Q-What should we put inside the box for the squirrels to sleep in?
A-We provide a small bag of straw. Sphagnum moss is also acceptable.
Q-Do we personalize boxes?
A-Only on our main website.

How do I keep birds and bees out?
Birds & bees don't know the house isn't theirs. If birds move in you may have to pull out the nest until they get the message. Beekeepers may be able to remove bees for you & add them to their colonies. No, painting the ceiling blue does not help.
Q-How long will it take for my squirrel to move in?
A-The buyers who follow instructions & mount their boxes as they should often see squirrels move in immediately. If you hang a house low or where there's too much traffic & little to no protection you may be waiting a long time to see a squirrel in your house.
Once the house is up, leave it alone. Do not open it every day and check to see if it's occupied. You wouldn't feel safe w/ someone breaking in your house constantly.
Questions about shipping.
All nesting boxes & feeders are shipped via UPS Ground. Expect 1-5 business day shipping times on top of the processing time. We do not ship feeders or boxes to PO boxes.
All small items are shipped via First class or priority. Once the package has been shipped it is the buyer's responsibility to track it. Buyer's are responsible for any returned packages due to wrong address provided by them.
Q- What if my box is damaged?
A-If your product arrives damaged please send us a picture within 24 hours of receipt and we will either send a part to fix it or replace it.
Delivery issues
Once packages are dropped off they become the buyer's responsibility to track. USPS has been better but is still experiencing delays in bug hubs. Always track your package.
Q- What if my package is stuck in transit?
A-Call your local post office to get movement on it or file a "Where is my package" claim.
Q-What if my package was delivered to wrong address?
A-Addresses are copy and pasted so if you used the wrong address it is your responsibility to have the package rerouted. You must call the post office and ask for the GPS coordinates to find out where it is.
Q-What if my package was stolen?
A-We will replace a package that was stolen only after a physical copy of a police report has been sent to us,
Do you ship outside the US?
No, we no longer ship outside of the US due to the high cost of shipping?
