"For a one-man band there is a lot to be said about Place Cremation’s, “Grimoire.” I like how this album was written and find that the artist has laid down a solid foundation to continue with more stellar doomy jams. If you are a fan of classic Sabbath like doom that will take you on a trip into smoke filled dimensions with demons and killer riffs, then you need to give this a listen!" - Rockandmetaltemple.blogspot.com Pale Cremation was formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 2019 by Matt Lasserre. Formerly of bands such as Mournful Cries, Scrape The Earth and Sleeping Sun, Matt formed Pale Cremation with a Doom metal sound akin to Electric Wizard, Eyehategod, Sleep and Black Sabbath. Enter 2023. After a year hiatus Pale Cremation has returned with a new, harder Death Metal sound with the aggressive yet Sci-Fi/Cosmic Horror fueled single "The Horror Electric" inspired by the classic video game Quake. The new record, entitled "Communion" is inspired by the Whitley Strieber book of the same name. "That book [Communion] is absolutely one of those most terrifying things I have ever read" Matt said, "Right now the concept of alien abduction and extraterrestrials is really gaining traction in society at the moment, I felt it was perfect timing to do an album about it". "Communion" is looking at a late summer/early fall release date and will be sure to pique interest from heavy metal fans, gamers and horror/sci-fi fans alike.
