This story starts with two youngsters having similar dreams of setting up a craft shop. Sanjana was nimble with needles, threads, and beads since she was a teenager, and she worked with her sisters in making things. Sohana also loved jewelry and crafts but she was not encouraged to set up a shop. Setting up business also requires capital, and she did not have that. So there was nobody to share the dream with.

Then in 2013 Sohana and Sanjana met. And as they grew to be friends this dream started taking shape into reality. They bought small things, made and polished their work, and finally, ventured to set up a small shop on Etsy. Well, the dream has just started to take shape, and the rest still lies with the future.

Both of us take this effort as fun and enjoyment. We love personalizing the things we wear. The regular stuff never seems nice enough. We love to reorganize, redecorate, and turning regular things into unusual decorative pieces. So we are hoping to imbue that spirit in our Etsy Project. We have named our store "Poshra Crafts," the word Poshra meaning knick-knacks in Bengali. We hope that viewers and buyers will like our poshra.

We also hope to learn from other Etsy members. This really seems to be a vibrant community and we are happy to be a part of it.

Little addition: Sohana has recently gone back to Bangladesh. But she continues to work from there-- for Poshra Crafts :)
