Note from shop owner With a heavy heart I am here to announce the shutdown of Allie’s Handmade Blankets for the 2021 Holiday Season.

For those of you that have been following my journey over the past 10 years in business, I am disabled with a rare disease called Behçets Disease. In 2017 I started to have neck pain near the left shoulder, dxed as spine joint inflammation. With surgery I was able to resolve this pain for many years.

The pain is back and much worse than before. Insurance is requiring many hoops to redo the surgery, including 6+ weeks of PT, tests and test surgeries. The pain is to the point where I can’t hold anything with my left hand without severe pain, and crocheting requires a hold with both hands.

I’m taking this one step at a time, and for now that means complete rest while I wait to get into PT. I have no idea when AHB will reopen.

If you would like to be notified when I reopen, feel free to message me here or on Etsy and provide an email address. I can add you to a list that I will keep in the loop.

Thank you all for your understanding and support over the past ten years! I couldn’t be where I am today without each and every one of you.

P.S. - I’m an artist in all kinds of mediums. Recently I’ve been dabbling in chalk art and painting glass. I’ve also designed websites for 15+ years. Maybe you’ll see me pop up with something else in this time of transition! :)

Frequently asked questions

What abbreviations do you use in your patterns?

-I use the U.S. abbreviations in my crochet patterns. Even if you are not used to the U.S. abbreviations, I provide what each abbreviation stands for for easy reading.

I love one of your blanket designs, but I want it in anther color. Is that possible?

-Yes! I love doing custom orders so that you get the exact blanket you want. Convo me to get an order going or purchase one of the made to order designs and specify the colors you want instead of the original colors.

I like one of your throws, but I want to see the color in person first. Can you send me a yarn sample?

- If I have yarn leftover in the color you are requesting, I would be more than happy to send you a small sample. If you want to speed up the process you can always stop by a craft store in your area and see the color in person sooner. Please contact me if you need the exact color name and brand.

I see a blanket I would love to crochet myself. Why are you not selling a pattern for it?

-I have decided not to continue to sell patterns for the items I designed myself. This is due to some shop owners buying my pattern and them selling my item for a cheaper price. Feel free to buy the patterns I still sell, but I will not be listing any more patterns.
