This is my second acquisition from this artist. I must say that his work is even more stunning in person. The use of color is amazing. I very much enjoy how the new piece in particular appears in different variations of light. Thank you!

Absolutely blown away with how beautiful this painting is in person. I had been looking at John’s artwork for a few weeks. I work in the mental health field and somedays can be really tough. Just by looking at John’s art online brought me such peace. So I thought , hey, you have a birthday coming up, why not purchase one. But I couldn’t decide on which one to buy, so I bought 4 of them. Each one is stunning and special. When I look at this particular painting, I think of the hope I feel every morning, a new day full of possibilities. John captured that feeling. . . A is for Arizona, an ineffable grandeur courtesy of Mr. Shanabrook! It's a boundless enigma where the sky's a paintbox heaven and tenuous light can turn the air into an evanescent shimmer. From arroyo-fed steppes to mesas with their chiseled escarpments, the land is ancient and impermanent, its contours wind and water sculpted. The storms that pass with their rumbled soliloquies bring pall and menace and an entourage of thunderclouds, and the transient seasons are shifting moods, any one of them apt to surprise with a perfumed mix of mesquite and verbena. And when darkness comes it's a divine encroachment, a tremulous raiment of blues and purples heralded by ghostly coyote cries and a sky that's crowded with stars. Thank you so, John, for such magnificence to wax upon!
