How can I take care of the pieces?

Although an anti-oxidising coating has been applied to the surface of all pieces, the colour may change slightly from exposure to the air. To clean yourself, we recommend silver-cleaning liquid from a reputable brand such as Hagarty (available online).

We provide a zip-lock bag with all pieces. When your silver pieces are not being worn, we strongly recommend that you store them in these bags. This will reduce the exposure to the air, retaining the clean silver colour for longer.

Cleaning of Atelier Shinji Ginza pieces is offered free of charge at the Ginza flagship store (if you are in the area!).

How are your pieces packaging? Do you offer gift packaging?

Our pieces are shipped either in a plain, hard white box, or in our signature dark green gift box. We have a small charge for our gift box, which comes together with our branded cotton bag :)

What if I have a metal allergy?

Our pieces are crafted in Silver, 18K Gold, or Platinum. For Silver pieces (including 23K Gold Vermeil), we use high purity Silver (Britannia Silver 958), which contains less impurities than Sterling Silver 925. We do not add rhodium plating. Rhodium plating is the main culprit for most skin irritations, because nickel is usually part of the plating process.
Because of this reason, we have many customers from around the world with allergies who are wearing our pieces without a problem. There are however, rare cases of people who are allergic to all sorts of metals, even from a zipper touching the skin. We cherish the pure natural and genuine look of the metals we use, and our pieces do not trigger usual metal allergies.

How long will it take for shipping?

We ship with either FedEx (2-4 business days to many places) or Japan Post (4-8 days to many places).

Every effort is made to help you to avoid import tax, however please be aware that import duties may apply in your country. We are not responsible for customs fees, or any delays at customs.

How long will it take to make?

For pieces which we have in stock, packages are generally dispatched 1-4 days after receipt of payment. If you would like to know if an item is immediately available before you purchase, please contact us directly first.

As we make our pieces one by one and we have a physical shop where the piece can be sold at any time, there is a chance that we are out of stock of your ordered item. Britannia Silver 958 pieces generally take 1-2 weeks to make, while other pieces such as 23K Gold Vermeil, 18K Gold and Platinum pieces can take 2-4 weeks. It is worth bearing this in mind if purchasing jewelry as a gift. In the event that an item is out-of-stock, we will contact you directly.
