Our brick & morter location is located at the Old Jerome High School in the historic ghost town of Jerome, Arizona.
I have been a professional artist for over 30 years. My work has a tendency to lean heavily toward symbolic & allegorical narritives. The images that I create are interpreted as simplistic, surrealist and iconic. I work in a variety of colorful media which include: oil paint, chalk pastel, pen & ink, gouache, ceramics, and hand-painted masking tape - an experiemental drawing material.
I My influences stem from nature, ancient & modern art era artists, and themes revealed in illuminated manuscripts and texts.
As an artist and art educator, I enjoy sharing techniques for art making with others; conveying that research of subject matter facilitates life long learning and growth. Collaboration and public artmaking is also important to me so if I can accomodate your requests or ideas for a special order just let me know.

Artist Biography:
I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Ohio State University and graduated in the Spring of 1990. I then spent many formative years as a fine arts gallery painter, cartoonist, and illustrator in Baltimore, Maryland.
I now live in the Verde Valley of Northern Arizona, and have called this region home for 20+ years. My studio "Word is Art" is in the historic ghost town & artists colony of Jerome, Arizona. Here I focus on experimental and traditional mediums to convey my visions. I use hand-painted masking tape to create large scale drawings and installations. Other mediums that I work with include - gouache painting, pen & ink drawing, chalk pastel drawing, oil painting, figurative sculpture, and ceramic arts to create my signature kinetic eggs sculptures & colorful Little Birds.
In 2018, I completed my Masters of Education with certification in Secondary Art and I teach Drawing, Art Foundations, Beginning Painting, and Color Theory to students at Mingus Union High School in the town of Cottonwood, AZ, adjacent to Jerome, in the beautiful Verde Valley of Nothern Arizona.
