I started my shop after being laid off for the second time in my life. The first time was after 12 years with a company and the second was after 10. I thought long and hard after the last lay-off and decided I was going to take a chance, follow my passion and say goodbye to corporate life! gulp...
With that I went to work on my basement apartment that I had been attempting to complete for about 2 years... after a lot of work and drama, I finished it up and rented it out... Now with a bit of income coming in I was able to think about what I would like to spend the rest of my life doing... it was easy... photography and dogs.
So I took my 'on the side' love of photography and worked at creating a business out of it . At the same time I started boarding dogs in my home for some extra cash. Out of it all came Lorie Slater Photography and Stink Eye Dogs... The inspiration of those two companies developed into a 3rd... carrotdogdesign, and so my etsy store was born. Using my photography and love of dogs I've created some items that I've been producing and selling locally and now I have the opportunity to sell globally through etsy... life is awesome!
