Hi Etsy Family! In preparation for a busy 2014 wedding photography season, we are deactivating our Etsy store until things have slowed down a bit. We are still accepting custom orders on a case-by-case basis, so please visit our official home on the web (http://www.cozycashmerestudio.com) and get in contact with us there or send us a message. Thanks so much for a wonderful 2013 Holiday Season and we promise we will be back soon!
Love,
Sara & Eric
===============================================================
Eight years in the IT industry deprived my (Sara) right-brain (I'm left handed).
I grew up in art schools, one of which was named Old Donation Center for the Gifted and Talented, in Virginia Beach, VA. I vaguely remember being named 'Art Student of the Year' in 7th grade and thinking it could be something I could do for a living. Alas, my old-fashioned parents had other plans for me. In college, I majored in Management Information Systems out of their disapproval of my desire to major in any of the arts. By the grace of God, I graduated in 2004. I suppose it all worked out, though, because now not only do I know how to make things that work, I can make them pretty, too. Believe me, the two rarely are found together - at least in the IT and software industries.
Fast forward - I had kids and finally had enough of my share of DC's daily nightmare: traffic.
I recently quit my job to CEO my own life... we're still working on Eric. Until then, he's stuck working on his share of (my) projects in his "spare" time. I'm the visionary, he gets to be the manual labor most days. Don't believe me? Watch: https://vimeo.com/30324243
Things you are going to find in our shop are bound to be diverse, as neither of us know how to focus on only one thing. We're OBSESSED with Restoration Hardware - their style, colors, weathering/distressing, and stains. We swore off shopping there after enough of Eric's complaints that he could make it himself if he had the right tools. So, for all of 2013's holidays (his birthday, our anniversary, Christmas, next Father's Day lol) I finally gave him the green light to buy the Festool tracksaw he'd been drooling over since we got married. That's why this shop was born. Making things becomes addicting - and everything we make is meticulously crafted with love, sweat, sore muscles, and self-deprivation of our favorite shows.
We're particularly great at graphic design, typography, woodworking/finished carpentry, jewelry making, website and application development, paper crafts, interior design, business branding/marketing/management, custom home automation, music production, and photography. I did mention that we're also professional wedding & family photographers recognized in the DC Metro and Hampton Roads areas, didn't I? :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Love,
Sara & Eric
