Howdy! Li'l Shop of Cyn is curated by artisan and designer Cyn Macgregor. All of my products are hand-crafted with love. My artwork is abstract and energetic and I hope you love it! The products I sell are handmade by myself or partner artisans using quality materials. I am fussy about fabrics. They have to feel good next to my skin, hold up to wear, be sewn expertly, and contain no animal products.

ABOUT MY ART
Mushin no shin [無心の心] that is, to be in the moment with no mind mark-making, shows up in my original paintings as well as my pattern design. I am a painter, illustrator, and digital designer. Some of my work is scanned from the original and others are made directly on the computer using Photoshop and illustrator.

Liked rusted metal, old paint, worn wood my artwork explores the beauty found in the imperfect and the profundity of patina that emerges with time. I embrace the practice of Mushin no shin [無心の心] that is, to be in the moment with no mind mark making. My work includes scribbles, dribbles, scraps, flaws, or distress (sometimes as happenstance and at other times on purpose) to emphasize that perfection is an illusion. I am an imperfect human who creates imperfect art.

I’ve always felt a strong connection to water. Whether bathing or playing in rivers, the motifs and imagery of beaches, seashores, and mountains are consistent in my work. Through color, line, and gestures my work strives to evoke feelings of the natural world blended with the construct of our material world.

My hope is that my artwork, in whatever form you are most attracted to, will spark a shared connection or conversation between people and the spaces they love.
