Welcome to the Beadtique!

I was raised in a very crafty family. My grandmother made seasonal and holiday crafts for every occasion. Her house was always decorated and we had so much fun making things together. My mom does custom sewing and alterations. I grew up wishing I could have the same name brands with the tags that seemed to matter to a teenager, but looking back I can easily see how fortunate I was to be original. I would mention that I wanted a particular item of clothing, even with so little as a photo from a magazine, and my mom would make it for me. I learned the love of art and creativity from these women. While my "real" job is not really along this same line (college professor by day) my passion is jewelry.

I have an aversion to cheap metals. In my younger years I would go to stores and buy jewelry only to upgrade the earwires or clasps so I didn't turn an awful shade of green. I soon realized I didn't need store bought jewelry at all--I could make my own pieces with much better quality metals and materials. This meant that my jewelry wasn't throw away jewelry, but could actually last and go from everyday wear to something I could keep for many years to come.

I only use quality materials in the jewelry I create: hand selected natural stones, gemstones, freshwater pearls, and sterling silver. I don't make anything I wouldn't enjoy wearing myself. The piece I make for you will be a keepsake that can be worn and treasured. Almost any items you see on my Etsy page can be custom made. Please convo me if you would like anything changed up a bit (size, color, etc.).
