Promptly after graduating from Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, I hightailed it to Los Angeles and grabbed the first post production job in photography I could find. A year later I realized what I was doing to earn my living no longer inspired me. I hadn't picked up a camera in months.
After weeks of consideration and support from friends and family who had been begging me to sell my artwork on Etsy, I quit my full time job to pursue a career in design and in early 2012, Elephant & Castle was born.
My work is inspired by the world around me. I'm a life long learner, globe-trotter, frequent concert-goer, woodblock type lover and vintage camera collector. I love chai, I love cupcakes, I especially love chai cupcakes.
Elephant & Castle is a colorful little section of South London and the shop name derives from my love for the city. In late 2012, just a few months after the shop opened, I was accepted to the London College of Communication to study for my masters degree in branding and identity design. Ironically, the university is located in Elephant & Castle, London and I am now officially based out of the UK!
