Handmade has always been in my heart. Growing up, I vividly remember my grandmother spending hours upon hours making the most exquisite jewelry I'd ever seen, and some of my fondest memories were attending local markets with her in the summer, where she would proudly show off all the magnificent pieces she'd spent so much time bringing to life. I marvelled at the sense of pride she borne through each one of her creations, and never dreamed that I would one day be able to carry that same feeling.

Despite learning to knit as a child, I only really picked up the craft as a young adult, using it to bring comfort and relaxation at the end of a tiresome day. The "Hoorah!" moment when 'hobby' turned to 'small business' came when I was shopping at a large chain store, and began browsing a selection of winter accessories. I was not only disappointed by the lack of colour options, but by the fact that you could blatantly tell they were all made using a machine. I thought about all the scarves I'd knitted for myself, and knew that they held something special that these ones didn't.

They held time, patience, and pride.

Winters can be brutal, and keeping warm is a necessity. We all own plenty of scarves, hats, and even gloves. But what if they were made with love, instead of machines? What if they could bring even just a little bit of happiness, during some of the harshest, coldest days of the year? It was through this desire that EndearingKnits was born.

I hope my knitwear brings you as much love, warmth, and endearing happiness as knitting them brings to me.
