The simple pleasures of a cup of coffee or an iced tea with family and friends is always a treat
and as we head for home, the evening sky over the Simonside Hills Northumberland is genuinely awesome!

Let me sell you a story...........................................................................

It was a hot afternoon, July 6th 2013. I had just watched the second half of the Brithish and Irish Lions 3rd test with Australia in the Widdrington Inn, Northumberland. About a mile down the road lies Druridge bay- a beautiful wide expanse of sand, backed by high dunes lapped by the inviting but very cold North Sea. This is the picture I have chosen for the shop banner. After the usual picking stuff up and paddle I made my way up to the dunes heading back to the car. Something caught my eye. Lying upside down and not much sticking out from the sand was what turned out to be a very distressed looking Citroen 15cv Matchbox Car. Being also a Citroen fanatic the phrase "What are the chances of that happening?" sprang to mind. Bit of research and the little car had made a fantastic journey.......it came from Macau and was made in around 1984. It certainly wasn't a current toy, and not one left on that hot July day 2013. Got me thinking.....if only I was good at writing screenplays and pitching ideas to Hollywood Studios, some sort of big movie franchise could have told this little Toy's Story.............
So it has resulted in an Etsy shop which I will try to fill with finds, dates, times, places and stories. I will have the little car as my first item but I have priced her on the high side because I am not sure I want to let her go.................
