I learned to knit as a little kid but never really got the hang of it. Later in my 20's I decided to give knitting another try after seeing a friend make herself a nice scarf. I headed to the local yarn store and the employee helped me pick out needles and yarn. She wrote me out a basic pattern for a scarf and I went home determine to make it. Once I finished I hurried back to the store and asked how I could make a matching hat! I was hooked!
I began watching youtube video's and looking up knitting tutorials online.
I started making dish cloths and posting photos of my completed work on facebook. My friends started offering to pay me for them! I thought, "I can make money off of this? Sweet!"
I tried a few other techniques and ended up making my first infinity scarf. I wore it to work and everyone was going bananas wanting one. I decided to put a few of my scarves up for sale at work on a local listing. As soon as I would list something it would be sold that day!
A colleague told me about etsy and not knowing anything about it I signed up and listed one fancy frill scarf. (It never sold) I started joining teams and learning more and more about etsy.
I am working hard to improve my shop everyday and my goal is to have a successful shop.
I figure I can send friends and family to this page if they want me to knit something, and if strangers like something then I'd be glad to send it to them too! My goal is to keep learning to make new things, and make a little extra money on the side doing it.
