This shop serves as a platform for our European Street Team (EST) team on Etsy to collect money for relief whenever a humanitarian crisis emerges and to support causes like child care & education.

Right now all proceeds will go to Japan via Architecture for Humanity. Read below for our regular (non-emergency) policies.

We started by sending our proceeds to the flood victims in Pakistan (total of 750 USD). From now on (2011), we also want to support children care and education.

So, besides the amazing rebuilding work done by Architecture for Humanity, we want to support the BlinkNow Foundation, which is a grass-root organization founded by Maggie Doyne.
Maggie is a young woman who followed her heart and built an orphanage and school in Nepal with a mission to improve the life of Nepalese children. Visit her site where she shares her story and gives almost daily updates on the life at the Kopila Valley Children's Home and School.

From now on, our buyers will also be able to specify which cause they want to support in the "message to buyer" section. Otherwise the proceeds will be split in two to be sent to these two organizations.

One of the reasons why we prefer these two organizations over others is, that they enable us to make our donations via PayPal. This works best for our team charity shop, because it helps us keep transparency as everything goes into and is spent from a single account.
