Blue Collar Pride
We are proud owners of a Blue-Collar company! A husband-and-wife team, we own two plumbing companies, with amazing technicians and office staff. One thing that we have noticed over the last few years is a subcurrent of disrespect many customers have shown our employees for being "just blue collar". It seems as though our people weren't worth the time of many customers because they didn't have a college education. Our technicians have been talked down to and dismissed as "uneducated" (as though choosing a different career somehow means that they are unintelligent). After one particularly long and passionate rant, this couple sat down and decided to do something about it. Thus Grit 'N Grease formed: a clothing shop dedicated to blue collar pride and the celebration of these great men and women who truly make America the greatest nation on earth. In addition to selling clothing focused on bringing light to the skill and craftsmanship of our skilled workers, Grit 'N Grease pledges to donate 10% of monthly net revenue to the Mike Rowe Works Foundation. This foundation is dedicated to providing scholarships to the next generation of blue-collar workers, allowing many who wouldn't have the chance to attend trade schools and join the ranks of the greatest women and men in the nation.
