I began my shop in April of 2012 with the relentless confidence of a friend. I have always loved to be artistic whether it has been with paint, crafts, sewing, drawing...whatever. But this new venture began with a sewing machine from my mom for Christmas, and the other gift was her teaching me how to sew as a child. Growing up we did not have a lot of money and my mom "made do" with her own skills and creativity to make our house a home; teaching me along the way.

For the past few years a sewing machine was on my list of "things to buy" for myself. As a graduate student supporting myself, the machine continued to drop to the bottom of the list. But the ideas of things to make continued to pile up in my head. When I stress I either bake or create. With pounds to lose, the sewing machine came just in time.

Lola is my seven year old pug, who has saved me in ways she will never know. She is the namesake of my shop, as she has been the basis of a lot of my sewing projects. She always needs a new skirt to wear! My sewing has evolved from making curtains for my home, aprons as gifts, table runners I couldn't afford, and other items and gifts for family and friends.

I cut and sew everything myself, although there are many nights I wish I had an extra pair of hands. I'm excited about my success so far. I have taken an idea that floated around in my head, and allowed it to come to fruition tangibly. When people buy my items there is no other feeling like it; it's exhilarating and inspiring.
